Cricket Season 05/06
This season we started
with 2 senior sides and 3 junior sides.
The A team played in
LOA and the B team Played in LOB. It wasn’t the season we would have
liked after the A team winning the premiership the previous year. The
team couldn’t get a regular side together with players filling in all
year. Barring this they played pretty well and finished 7th. This has
also been the worst year for cricket with 6 games being abandoned by
rain or heat. Some players had excellent results with Paul Merritt and
Gary Bartlett taking 5 wickets apiece and Geoff Wake scoring a 100.
Leading Batter was Matthew Brook on 371 runs and leading Bowler Paul
Merritt with 25 wickets.
The B team was in a
similar position with players and finished with similar results and an
excellent return from Andy Leonard with a 100 in the 2nd last game.
Leading Batsman was Andy Leonard on 399 runs and leading Bowler Mickey
Spry with 28 wickets.
